Hiya, you all heard the good news by now that Neowin will continue to bring you quality news and beta content via AOL's servers and resources.
We have been informed by Sean Little (AOL human resources & Web technician) that Neowin has been chosen to pilot Aim Alerts(TM). Aim Alerts is a innovative new system that alerts a user (when logged into the AIM client) of new news and updates on the AOL client network. All new registrations that sign up to Neowin will be required to install this small application that is only 9.6mb and can be installed directly from the web! Members of Neowin will be slowly migrated to the latest AOL browser which will feature targetted advertising and blocks for certain websites that we don't want you to see (or PeskyWebsites(TM) software utility).
We hope that we can continue to offer the premium services in combination with advertising you want to see and premium hosting at affordable prices.
We have also spoken to the Redhat-Linux team who were bought out joined AOL's services just recently and they told us that Neowin would "come out OK" whatever that means. Maybe we can expect to see Neowin on every desktop edition of Redhat.
Thats all for now folks..
PS: This was Part 2 of April Fools Joke 2002. Thanks for being great sports and playing along everyone.
