Today, Microsoft announced that its new immersive classroom experience for Teams is available today, in 181 markets and 25 languages. The features were announced at the company's May event last month that was focused on education.
One of the key features is School Data Sync. This feature connects with the school's information system to populate classes with student rosters. It will also have OneNote Class Notebooks baked in, "allowing teachers to organize interactive lessons and deliver personalized learning right from Teams."
Apps can also easily be integrated, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Planner. Finally, "End-to-end assignment management in Teams enables teachers to move quickly and effortlessly from creation and distribution to grading and feedback."
Ultimately, the goal is to create a hub where teachers can communicate with each other, students can work together, and more. It's not only meant for collaboration within the classroom, but educators can also use 'professional learning communities' (PLC) notebooks to share best practices. It can also be used for student clubs, and other groups within the educational community.
The new features are rolling out today to all Office 365 for Education subscribers.
