Apple has seeded new Intel-based and PowerPC-based builds of Mac OS X 10.4.6, the sixth minor update to Mac OS X "Tiger" since it's released last April, this week to developers.
Mac OS X 10.4.6 for PowerPC-based Macs (build 8I116) contains a number of addition bug fixes over the previous build, as does the Intel-based build (build 8I1109). Once released, the update should deliver hundreds of specific improvements, including fixes for Internet Connect, ImageIO, QuartzCore, AFP Server, WebKit Plugins, and Help Viewer, and more. Sources are telling Think Secret, an Apple enthusiast site, that the Intel-based build have a number of noticeable enhancements, including much improved Bluetooth support.
Also released was the Mac OS X Server build (build 8I116), which include improvements to security and authentication, stability of NFS services, improvements to the reliability of IMPA connections, and better virus filtering and quarantine with a new version of ClamAV, among others.
