Earlier this year, Electronic Arts officially revealed its plans to release Medal of Honor Warfighter, the latest game in its long running military shooter series. Today, the company released a new gameplay trailer for Warfighter which shows some action in a city located in the Philippines where US forces have to take out a terrorist threat.
As previously announced, this new entry in the series is going global as it portrays military actions not just from the US perspective but also from so-called "Tier 1 Operators" from a number of other countries. It's also supposed to depict how these military personnel interact with their families back home. The game is being developed by EA's internal team at Danger Close, located in Los Angeles, and will use the Frostbite 2 engine developed by Digital Illusions and first used in Battlefield 3 in 2011.
Medal of Honor Warfighter will also feature a multiplayer mode where players can take on the roles of a number of elite military units from around the world. Pre-orders for the game will allow players to unlock the U.S. Navy SEAL Sniper and the McMillan Tac-300 sniper rifle immediately.
Look for the game to be release for the PC, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 platforms on October 23rd.
