New US Cube bundle to feature Metroid Prime 2 demo

Nintendo of America has announced a new GameCube hardware bundle for the North American market, with the $99.99 package set to include a copy of Metroid Prime and a demo disc for the forthcoming Metroid Prime 2.

The new bundle will launch on August 15th, and the Metroid Prime 2 demo disc will also include a pair of trailers, an art gallery and a history of the series through its many incarnations, called The Metroid Chronicle.

For those who already own GameCubes, the demo of the eagerly anticipated game will also be made available through the Nintendo Power official magazine and via an online catalogue.

However, as yet Nintendo Europe has "no plans to introduce a similar bundle in Europe" - although in general the company does make the effort to make such freebies available to European consumers in some form, so it wouldn't be surprising if the disc were made available through other means.

Metroid Prime 2: Echoes was one of the most talked-about games of the E3 trade show in May, garnering significant critical acclaim particularly for its implementation of multiplayer modes. The title is out on November 15th in the USA, and should be out in Europe ahead of Christmas as well.
