New video shows off prototype Windows phone with Surface Pen support

With Microsoft's Lumia handset business all but finished, it's sometimes fun to take a look back at what might have been. Indeed, there are quite a few canceled phones that show up in leaks, and another one has shown up today. Once again, we're seeing a prototype of a Windows phone that supports pen input.

As you can see from the video, it's a Surface Pen, meaning that the device uses N-Trig technology. We can also see that it doesn't work particularly well, although this can be forgiven since it's a prototype and a device that we'll never see on the market.

Like many of the leaked devices that show up, this one is running Windows Phone 8.1, the unsupported version of the OS that predated Windows 10 Mobile. The interesting bit about that is that the tablet shown is the new Surface Pro, so this video must have been recorded recently.

Of course, this device will never see the light of day, but it should help to get the mouth watering for folks that are nostalgic for the golden age of Windows Phone.
