A new Witcher game from developer CD Projekt is set to be announced at next month’s E3 according to Eurogamer. Although details are sparse, senior producer Tomasz Gop did let the site know that it is going to be good news for both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 users.
Despite the lack of details, Gop did confirm that the game will not be an announcement of “The Witcher 3”, which could possibly mean a console specific version of “The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings” or a unique console-only title.
"I can't say anything obviously for gazillions of reasons but it is a Witcher game, and I can say that console gamers might be interested in it," Gop told Eurogamer.
Gop had previously told Eurogamer that work on a console version of The Witcher 2 wouldn’t start until completion of work on the PC title, something that happened last month.
CD Projekt’s upcoming Witcher title won’t be the company’s first foray into console gaming. They previously announced “The Witcher: Rise of the White Wolf” for consoles, before the project was canceled due to Atari’s funding problems.
The Witcher 2 was released on PC last week and has had superb reviews across the board and is now being widely regarded as not only the best role playing game title this year, but possibly of all time.
