Almost two years after Nextbit unveiled its cloud-first Android smartphone, Robin, the company has ended customer support for the handset. This isn't a surprising move, keeping in view that the firm previously announced that its official support channels will cease to exist after July 31.
Even though customer support for Robin has ended, software updates for the mid-range smartphone will continue till February 2018, as was originally planned. This was clarified via a tweet, a few hours after the original announcement:
To clear up some confusion: although we're ending customer support, we will continue software updates until Feb '18 as planned

The company was purchased by Razer earlier this year, and recent news that Razer is looking to build a gaming-focused phone may have factored into this decision. Discounts that were offered in July 2016, November 2016, and most recently, April 2017, also seemed to indicate a drop in Robin's sales, which likely led towards the shutting down of customer support.
However, Robin owners can still get assistance regarding their device over on the company's dedicated webpage, which provides a helpful ''get started'' video and a search bar for self-help, among other things. The warranty announcement on the same website does mention that users who purchased the phone through third-party resellers will have to contact the resellers themselves in case of any inquiries.
