The acclaimed action RPG by Platinum Games, Nier: Automata, released for the PlayStation 4 in February 2017, followed by a PC launch in March, but the studio skipped over the Xbox One saying that low sales of the console in Japan were to blame. And now, more than a year later, the game is finally heading for Microsoft's Xbox One family of consoles.
It seems the official announcement was slated to arrive later today at Microsoft's E3 conference, as the confirmation page that was spotted by Gematsu is no longer available, but the surprise has already been spoiled. A Google cache page of the announcement can be seen here.
The version that Xbox One owners will be receiving is titled NieR: Automata Become as Gods Edition, bringing in the base game, its expansion pack, and several more bonuses. The full list is seen below:
- Base NieR:Automata game ($59.99 value)
- The 3C3C1D119440927 expansion DLC ($13.99 value)
- Grimoire Weiss Pod
- Retro Red Pod Skin
- Retro Grey Pod Skin
- Cardboard Pod Skin
- The Machine Lifeform Mask Accessory
The digital-only release is heading for the Xbox One quite soon, with it having a June 26 release date attached to it and a $49.99 price tag. We can expect to see the full announcement and trailer in a few hours during Microsoft's E3 presentation
Update: As expected, Microsoft showed off the game with a new trailer during its E3 presentation, seen above. The NieR: Automata Become as Gods Edition's pre-order page is also up and running on the Microsoft Store.
