Nikon has revealed the world's first compact digital camera, which features an integrated projector, allowing users to share their pictures on any suitable flat surface, such as a wall or display. The 10-lumen projector can project images or video clips in VGA quality, up to 40 inches in size, up to two metres away.
The Coolpix S1000PJ has a 12.1 megapixel sensor, 5x optical zoom and comes with a remote control and stand, for times when gathering around the 2.7-inch LCD screen just will not do. And, if users do go for the slideshow option, the camera has some effects that can be added, making it possible to create slideshows quickly and easily.
The compact digital camera has several built in blur reduction features, subject tracking as well as other, smaller features such as the "Smile Timer". The Coolpix S1000PJ is one of three compact digital cameras in the new Coolpix range from Nikon, joining the Coolpix S640, which Nikon claims is the fastest of the Coolpix cameras, and the Coolpix S570, which focuses on design and ease of use.
"We are thrilled with our innovative new COOLPIX collection and, across the range, believe we have created a camera to suit everyone," said Mike Pekelharing of Nikon Europe. "Our projector gadgetry will be sure to impress, but ultimately, all of the range offers sophisticated features to produce Nikon-quality images and bolsters our already impressive collection."
According to TechRadar, the Nikon Coolpix S1000PJ will cost £399, when it is released in September.
