Nintendo announces that free copies of Pac-Man vs. will be bundled with a number of upcoming GameCube games.
Nintendo of America has today announced that free copies of Pac-Man vs., which has been developed in collaboration with Namco, will be bundled with a number of upcoming GameCube games. Starting in early December, anyone purchasing R: Racing Evolution, I-Ninja, or the upcoming $19.95 Player's Choice edition of Pac-Man World 2 will also receive a free copy of Pac-Man vs. "The partnership between Nintendo and Namco gives game fans a new spin on an old favorite," said George Harrison, Nintendo of America's senior vice president for marketing and corporate communications. "This Pac-Man may be the best ever, because it brings together players and systems in a whole new way."
First announced by Shigeru Miyamoto at E3 earlier this year, Pac-Man vs. allows players to compete using a Game Boy Advance linked to a GameCube console. The player with the GBA gets to control Pac-Man while up to three players control the ghosts that attempt to stop him clearing the maze of Pac-dots. "We were very excited to work with Nintendo and Mr. Miyamoto to bring Pac-Man vs. to life on both the Nintendo GameCube and Game Boy Advance," said Nobuhiro Kasahara, president and chief operating officer at Namco. "What better way to utilize the exciting new feature of connectivity than with the classic gaming character, Pac-Man."
