Nintendo has a ton of news to share about upcoming Nintendo Switch games during its E3 presentation, including more details about Luigi's Mansion 3, which was announced last year without much in the way of details.
The third entry in the franchise follows the steps of its predecessors, though in this case, Luigi and his friends are invited to a hotel which turns out to be haunted. As Luigi's friends disappear, he has to search the hotel to find them, fighting the usual enemy ghosts along the way.
This title introduces some new moves thanks to the new Poltergust G-00, the vacuum cleaner Luigi uses to suck up the otherworldly creatures. For example, there's a new Slam move, which can be used to attack ghosts and make it easier to capture them. Another new addition is a character called Gooigi, which can be used to traverse obstacles such as spikes. Gooigi also served as the secondary character if you choose to play the game in cooperative mode.
Nintendo revealed Scarescraper mode, a multiplayer mode where up to four players can join via local or online multiplayer to achieve certain tasks, such as finding missing friends, or capturing every ghost on a given floor.
Unfortunately, the information in today's direct didn't include a more specific release date, so we still only know it's coming sometime this year. Given the theme of the game, it would make sense for it to be released around Halloween, but that remains to be seen.
