Nintendo is going to work with game companies to produce software that will be more popular in Europe and America. According to the Nikkei newspaper in Japan, Nintendo is trying to expand its audience and market share by collaborating with more developers.
Nintendo will start discussion with whomever they work with at the planning stages of games so that they can figure out how to better accommodate North American and PAL markets.
Some complain that Nintendo has catered too much to Japanese tastes this hardware generation. Although this new plan may or may not be about that, GameCube has needed better presence and appeal especially outside of Japan.
Satoru Iwata, president of Nintendo, says that more attention is needed for games that are released outside of Japan. Nintendo will make more cooperative partnerships like it has done with Sega. He also cautions that this doesn't have anything to do with mergers.
