Juho Sarvikas, who is the Chief Product Officer at HMD Global has announced via Twitter that the Nokia 3 is now officially being updated to Android 8.0 Oreo.
The Nokia 3 debuted in early 2017 and made its way to India and the United Kingdom in the months following its unveiling. The handset isn't a powerhouse when it comes to specifications, offering a 5-inch HD display, MediaTek processor, 2GB RAM, and 2630 mAh battery. The smartphone also packs an 8MP rear and 8MP front-facing camera, and costs €139. Despite its lower position in the HMD Global lineup, it has still been treated well, receiving frequent updates, going from Android 7.0 to Android 7.1.1, and now Android 8.0 Oreo.
However, these updates are to be expected, as HMD Global promised Google's Android Oreo for its lineup in mid-2017. It wasn't able to meet its goal of having it available by the end of 2017, but you know what they say, better late than never.
