About a month ago, HMD Global laid out its new plans to roll out the Android 10 update to its smartphones, with some delays as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the current situation, though, the company is rolling out the update quite quickly, and following the Nokia 7.2 and 3.2, it's now time for the Nokia 4.2 to get the latest version of Android.
Like it did for the Nokia 3.2, HMD Global is now providing a more detailed look at which markets the update is available in, so you can know whether you should expect it or not. For the Nokia 4.2, Android 10 is available in 43 markets in the first wave:
Armenia | Austria | Azerbaijan | Bahrain |
Belarus | Belgium | Cambodia | Denmark |
Estonia | Finland | France (except Orange FR) | Georgia |
Hong Kong | Iceland | India | Indonesia |
Ireland | Kazakhstan | Kuwait | Laos |
Latvia | Libya | Lithuania | Luxembourg |
Macau | Malaysia | Mongolia | Morocco |
Netherlands | Norway | Oman | Portugal |
Qatar | Russia | Saudi Arabia | Spain |
Sweden | Thailand | Tunisia | United Arab Emirates |
Ukraine | USA | Yemen |
If you live in one of these markets, you'll need to keep in mind that the update is only available for 10% of users today. It will be available to 50% of users by April 12, and by April 14, everyone in these markets will be able to get the update.
With this release, HMD Global is now a little closer to matching its roadmap for the rollout. The Nokia 2.3, 3.1 Plus. 6.2, and 8 Sirocco are also expected to get the update at the start of the second quarter of 2020, so we should see those updates in the coming days and weeks.
