Nokia hasn't launched any new Android smartphones since the lineup of devices revealed at MWC, including the Nokia 1 Plus, 3.2, 4.2, and 9 PureView. However, that seems to be set to change next week, as the company is using Twitter to tease a new event for June 6.
The teaser video shows a single camera lens, and it's captioned with the text "See things in a new light", suggesting that a new device with a focus on camera quality may be on the way.
There's not much indication of what smartphone this may be, but phones such as the Nokia 2.1 and 5.1 have recently turned one-year-old, meaning they might be due for a refresh soon. Rumors surrounding new Nokia smartphones have been floating around the internet, including the purported Nokia 6.2 with a hole-punch display cutout - which could just be the international name for the Nokia X71 that recently launched in Taiwan.
Nokiapoweruser has also reported on certification for another Nokia phone under the codename Wasp, which is speculated to be the Nokia 2.2. The device would arrive with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, which is a major bump in specs over the 1GB/8GB combination of the Nokia 2, so it may be best to take this possibility with a grain of salt.
