Android O has been in the works for quite some time. In March, Google released the Developer Preview, giving those curious, a chance to interact with the latest update to Android. At I/O 2017, the firm announced that the software would be entering beta, and also showed off some its features and benefits. Sadly, since the beta is still only available for a handful of handsets, many will not get experience the new features, like its useful Notifications Badges.
Luckily, popular third-party launcher, Nova Launcher, has updated its software to introduce its own badges called Dots. They function in a similar manner, alerting users with a circular icon for incoming notifications. While this is interesting, Nova recently released its own Dynamic Badges to the public, which seem more informative than Google's own offering. The badges pull from notifications and can display a more detailed notification badge like a profile image from your contacts list, album art, and more.
If you'd like to try out the new features of Nova Launcher, be sure to head to the Google Play Store. If you want to test out the new Dots feature, you'll want to apply for the beta.
