Nvidia has done a good job of keeping its Shield gaming device up to date. Today, the company announced its 20th software update for the Shield, continuing its promise of supporting its devices with updates.
The Shield Software Experience Upgrade 7.1 not only brings a host of new features but also offers a wealth of improvements. GeForce NOW will support more accurate movements when it comes to mouse input, along with keyboard shortcuts. There will also be a "Keyboard and Mouse Games" section, making it easier to find compatible games. The service will now also support in-game voice chat, allowing you to connect a compatible headset and microphone to the Shield's controller.
Nvidia is also releasing a Shield TV app, giving users the ability to access a virtual keyboard and mouse, making navigation and input much simpler. The app will be available for iOS on the App Store and for Android devices via the Google Play Store. Nvidia Share is also making a comeback, allowing users to once again, capture screenshots and record clips of their gameplay. This can be enabled in the Settings menu.
A new 120Hz mode is being implemented as well, offering those with a compatible TV or monitor a new experience. The new update will also bring "additional methods for power off, restart and sleep". For those curious to check out the new features, you can now download the update using your Shield.
