Nvidia's K8G is ready, but may be redesigned

NVIDIA'S ATHLON 64 chipset is ready to rock and roll and final production was slated for March. We saw many motherboards at CeBIT using this chipset and some were even up and running. No surprise there, and it's only AMD to blame for not releasing the CPUs. But even though K8G is ready to go-go, our knowledgeable sources told us that Nvidia will play with the core a little bit more with new graphics on its mind.

FX 5200 could find its way into this Athlon 64 support scheme and it's entirely feasible that Nvidia can pull this feat off in the next six months. Because Clawhammer dawns around about September so Graphzilla can hunker on down in the graphics trenches and consider the ways and means to achieve flightier performance. Integrated Direct X certainly looks like an attractive option.
