Xbox One and PlayStation 4 players will finally able to play Obsidian Entertainment's 2018 epic Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire. The role-playing game is hitting the two consoles on January 28, 2020 with both a Standard and an Ultimate Collector's Edition.
The first game in the series, Pillars of Eternity, already arrived on the two consoles in 2017. Deadfire is a direct sequel to that, bringing over player decisions, companions, and more from the original's playthrough.
Also, the console editions will ship with the turn-based combat mode as an option that can be used over the classic real-time with pause mode. Turn-based mode arrived on the PC version as a free update earlier this year following fan feedback.
Created with THQ Nordic, the Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Ultimate Collector's Edition for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 will cost $129.99. It comes with the base game plus all the expansions and DLC, a 10" Od Nua statue, Spacepig keychain, and a metal-optic 3D sticker all in a premium box. See a mockup of this edition's contents above.
The Nintendo Switch is also slated to receive Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire, but a firm release date has not yet been announced. The first game released on the hybrid console just earlier this year.
