DRM-free store GOG has just kicked off its Big Deal Sale, with deals of up to 90 percent off certain games. However, as those familiar with previous sales on the site are aware, GOG also has the habit of offering a free game to claim during these kinds of events.
On this occasion, you'll be able to add Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee to your collection, free of charge, for the next 48 hours.
For those not aware, Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee is the first in a series of games set on the fictional planet of Oddworld, in which the player character opposes industrial corporations which perpetually endanger its ecosystem. Developed by Oddworld Inhabitants and published by GT Interactive for the original PlayStation, MS-DOS, and Windows in 1997, the game is an outright classic of the genre. In fact, the scheduling of this freebie giveaway is interesting, because it marks the 20th anniversary of the game's release, Abe's Oddysee having hit retail shelves on September 19, 1997.
If interested, the game can be claimed at its store page on GOG. These are of course not all of the available deals, with Age of Wonders 3 Deluxe Edition and Crypt of the NecroDancer grabbing a 75 percent discount on their regular price, among others.
