Fans of fantasy role playing games have a newly revealed project to look forward too. Publisher Focus Home Interactive has announced this week that it will publish Of Orcs and Men, which will combine the talents of two development studios: Cyanide Studios and Spiders.
The game's official press release has some of the first details from Of Orcs and Men (a slight variation of the title of the classic John Steinbeck novella Of Mice and Men). The game sounds like it gives the humans the bad guy role in this fantasy world. The Empire of Man kills or enslaves orcs while also killing off goblins as well. This game will give your player character the chance to control an orc warrior at first. He is given the task by his commander to take on a daring mission to kill off the leader of the brutal Empire of Man, the Emperor himself.
Later on you will control a Goblin who will join the Orc warrior on his mission. Each character will have its own skill trees that the player must open up and develop. As one might imagine the Orc is more of the brute force type of character while the Goblin is more of an assassin prone to use stealth to take out enemies.
Cyanide Studios will handle Of Orcs and Men's initial concept while the other development studio, Spiders, will fully realize the game design's concepts. The full version of the game is currently scheduled for release sometime in spring 2012 for the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 game platforms.
