OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition is now official with 10GB of RAM and a new charging tech

After a number of leaked promotional images and a teaser, the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition has officially made its debut today. The new model of OnePlus' latest flagship phone is born out of a partnership between the British Formula One car maker, McLaren, and the Chinese smartphone manufacturer.

As expected, the special edition device embraces the signature color of the classic Formula One car, with papaya orange around the bottom of the phone and a shade of black over the rest of its body (watch the video below). On the back of the device sits the McLaren logo far below the OnePlus logo. But what's more notable about the rear design is the addition of the Formula One-inspired carbon fiber pattern. OnePlus also notes that the McLaren badge at the back of the phone moves depending on the lighting and viewing angle.

In terms of specs, the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition is claimed to be the world's first commercially available smartphone to offer 10GB of RAM. That's in addition to other key specs and features already found in the original OnePlus 6T including the Snapdragon 845 SoC, 6.41-inch AMOLED display with 2340 x 1080 resolution, and the in-display fingerprint scanner.

In line with its "Salute to Speed" tagline, the smartphone features the Warp Charge 30, a new charging technology that OnePlus claims can juice up the device's battery up to 50% in just 20 minutes. The device will be available for purchase from December 13 at 10:00 am EST for $699.
