Consistent with its tradition of unveiling a new color option for its flagship smartphones days after the official debut, OnePlus today revealed the Almond variant of the OnePlus 7 Pro. The new variant adds to the already available Mirror Gray and Nebula Blue color options announced last month.
However, unlike the existing variants, the Almond edition comes only in the 8GB/256GB configuration and it costs $699. Shipping for the handset will begin in two weeks in the U.S.
Apart from the new color, the OnePlus 7 Pro Almond edition packs the same set of specs and features as the original variants. OnePlus' latest flagship smartphone is one of the most anticipated handsets of 2019 due in part to its promise of super-smooth display. Indeed, the phone launched with a 6.62-inch display with a 90Hz refresh rate, giving users a smoother experience especially in gaming.
As a flagship device, it is naturally powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 855 SoC and it is the first phone to feature UFS 3.0 storage, claimed to be 79% faster than UFS 2.1. Another selling factor of the OnePlus 7 Pro and its smaller sibling is the 16MP pop-up front camera, giving it a bigger screen real estate.
The phone can now be purchased directly from OnePlus' online storefront, with options for a screen protection plan at $70 for 12 months or $39 for six months.
