OnePlus today confirmed that it will be announcing the OnePlus 8T on October 14. The event is scheduled to start at 10 am ET and just like other tech events held so far this year, this one too will be hosted online. OnePlus will be live streaming the event on YouTube and on its website so you will be able to watch the company announce the handset live.
“OnePlus is always looking for opportunities to bring the latest technology to our tech-savvy users as soon as we feel it meets our high standards,” said Pete Lau, Founder and CEO of OnePlus. “With the upcoming OnePlus 8T, we are once again raising the bar for ourselves in terms of the overall user experience, thanks to some new features that we are excited to introduce for the first time in a OnePlus device. I am confident that the OnePlus 8T will once again exceed expectations and deliver an unparalleled flagship experience.”
OnePlus will reportedly not introduce a 'T' refresh of the OnePlus 8 Pro this year. Instead, we are only going to get the OnePlus 8T which leaks indicate will pack a 6.55-inch FHD+ resolution 120Hz AMOLED display, Snapdragon 865 chipset, up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, and 65W fast charge support. The device is also rumored to feature a 48MP quad-camera setup at the rear. High resolution renders of the device have also leaked confirming its new design.
Apart from the OnePlus 8T, we could also see the company announce some new mid-range smartphones for the U.S. market and its first smartwatch.
