OnePlus has unveiled the Nord N200 5G smartphone in the US. The budget handset comes with a few standout features such as a 90 Hz LCD screen, triple camera setup, and fast-charging support. As opposed to the glass back found on premium OnePlus devices, the Nord 200 5G "settles" for a plastic body.
The OnePlus Nord N200 5G is powered by Qualcomm's octa-core Snapdragon 480 chipset. Based on the 8nm fabrication process, it comes with Adreno 619 GPU. The phone has 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage. You can expand it further via a microSD card slot.
OnePlus smartphones generally sport an OLED screen across the board. However, the Nord N200 5G opts for a 6.5-inch Full HD+ IPS (In-Plane Switching) LCD to keep its affordable price tag. The Chinese company has tuned the screen for a 90 Hz refresh rate. The display features a punch-hole that holds a 16 MP selfie camera. Moving around the back, you get a 13 MP camera accompanied by a 2 MP macro, and 2 MP monochrome depth sensor.
The phone supports 5G, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, and NFC. It comes with a good-old 3.5 mm headphone jack and relies on a USB Type C port for charging. It holds a 5,000 mAh battery with 18W fast charging technology.
The Nord N200 5G runs Android 11 with Oxygen OS on top. The phone is priced at $240, which makes it the most affordable 5G smartphone in the US. Available in Blue Quantum, it will be available for order starting from June 25. T-Mobile has announced a deal where you can get the Nord 200 5G for "free" via 24 monthly bill credits when you activate a line or trade-in a device.
