With its latest entry, OnePlus no longer offers a flagship killer at a price point that can be deemed drastically lower than its competition. But, its handsets have come a long way from the original, offering more and more with each iteration. Although the hardware is an important part of a phone, so is the software, and OnePlus has done an excellent job keeping its OS fresh, light, and speedy.
Those that yearn to be on the bleeding edge will be happy to know that there is a new Android Q Developer Preview available for the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro. Although this update gets you to the latest version of Android, there are certain risks involved. For one, there is the chance that you could brick your device, leaving it completely unusable. So before you proceed, make sure to back up your information and proceed at your own risk.
The company notes on its forums that "Reading Mode" and "Display Mode" are not working for this beta. Also it states that "verification window can't pop up in WIFI anonymous connection" and that there should be a "low probability of having stability issues". If you are okay with assuming the risk, be sure to head to the OnePlus website for the full instructions. There are instructions for new installations, updating from the first Developer Preview, and the firm even has instructions so that you can revert back to Android 9.0.
