OnePlus CEO Carl Pei recently apologized to his customers for having "messed up the launch" of not only its first handset, but also that of its second - the OnePlus 2, which is now on sale. The company will no doubt be hoping that things go a little more smoothly for the launch of its third device, which looks set to be unveiled later this month.
It was back in March that OnePlus first revealed plans to launch another handset this year, in addition to its new flagship. At the time, Pei said: "I think it's going to be a phone catering to a different type of audience. Perhaps for those who appreciate design over specs."
Today, the company teased an upcoming event on October 29, at which it's believed the new handset will be unveiled. With the hashtag #PowerfullyBeautiful, the tweet gives very little away - but the illuminated 'x' hints at a possible 'OnePlus X' name for the new device.
While details of the new phone remain uncertain, most believe that it will feature less high-end specs than the OnePlus 2, allowing the device to slot into the range at a more affordable price.
