Opera is adding new features to make its browser more similar to Microsoft's Internet Explorer. The most noticeable new feature is the new skin which is similar to IE.
Opera Software has added features to make its popular browser more similar to Internet Explorer (IE) in a bid to persuade more Microsoft users to abandon IE. The company's new series of one-click software set-ups will, it claims make the transition to Opera smoother for IE users who are considering changing programs. These udpates change Opera's toolbars, menus, keyboard shortcuts, and mouse gestures, one of which emulates IE's look and feel, giving IE migrators what Opera reckons is "an easier start on a more advanced Web browsing application."
"Opera is not only the fastest browser on earth, but the most customisable browser on earth," said Jon S. von Tetzchner, CEO, Opera Software. "We are doing everything we can to encourage people to move on to more advanced technologies with a simple start in Opera, offering them the sort of settings that they are accustomed to before they dive in to everything Opera offers. There should be no learning curve for Web surfers wanting a better Internet experience."
