Oracle has agreed to acquire Netsure Telecom, a provider of network intelligence, analytics and network data integrity software. Netsure's technology is targeted at communications service providers with traditional and next-generation networks, with the company's clients including Vodafone, Cable & Wireless and Eircom. Oracle will incorporate NetSure into its Communications Global Business Unit, which delivers communications-specific applications to service providers. According to Oracle senior vice president Bhaskar Gorti, the addition of Netsure's products to Oracle's communications applications suite will help existing customers to improve network utilisation, optimise capacity planning and enhance financial modelling. The transaction is subject to customary conditions and is expected to close later in September 2007; financial details were not disclosed at the time.
