Moon Studios' newest venture, Ori and the Will of the Wisps, released last month to rave reviews, including a Masterpiece verdict in the Neowin review by Vishal Laul. While Ori's adventure may be over, the developer is not finished with the game itself, as today it pushed out the highly anticipated 4.6 patch, bringing improvements, bug fixes, and more.
Here are the bug fixes included in this update, arriving alongside improvements to the performance as well as map and asset loading times:
- Fixed the buzzing issue for the vast majority of players
- Fixed bugs with obtaining certain achievements
- Fixed missing characters in Asian languages
- Fixed problems with some controller buttons not working for some players
- Fixed crashing / freezing on start issue
- Fixed several issues where player gets trapped behind closed door after respawning
- Fixed several instances of screen going black at certain moments
- Fixed problems with picking up some of the collectibles
- Many more minor fixes
Meanwhile, giving players more options to tweak the game settings, dynamic and hidden HUD preferences, an exclusive fullscreen option, as well as resolution, motion, and blur scaling options have arrived with the 4.6 patch too. As for the gameplay side of things, the fast travel system now arrives as an upgrade that can be bought from Opher instead of an automatic unlock.
Quite a few achievement unlocking issues have been resolved, too. Those missing the Healthy and Powerful achievements may now load a save that qualifies to get them immediately. Moreover, Destiny, Hardcore Fan, Shardless, Lightless, Look at the Time, and Immortal achievements will be correctly issued when re-viewing the final cutscene of the game.
Players who own Ori and the Will of the Wisps on Xbox One and PC (Microsoft Store or Steam), along with Xbox Game Pass subscribers, should now have the update waiting for them to download.
