Overcooked 2 was announced during Nintendo's E3 presentation today, promising even more friendship-ending cooperative cooking tasks. The original title from 2016 became popular for its frantic cooking escapades that up to four players could experience, however, only local co-op play was available.
That is changing with the sequel, as while the four-player limit will remain, one of the main new features of Overcooked 2 is online multiplayer support, a massively requested feature by fans.
There will also be dynamically changing kitchens with moving platforms and teleporters to add even more confusion into the mix. Among other features, additional recipes like sushi, burgers, and pizzas that require all new ingredients are included as well.
Chefs will be able to throw food for the first time as well, which should help when the orders pile up and there's no time for running around.
Overcooked 2 will be available on PC, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4 on August 7, and is now available for pre-order with a $24.99 price tag. Those who pre-order will receive an additional five chefs as a bonus.
