Following the release of its app for Windows 8.1, PayPal has now re-released its credit/debit card point-of-sale app for Windows Phone after unforeseen complications caused the company to remove it from the Store several weeks ago. They announced their plans to bring the app to the Windows ecosystem just last November.
From the store listing:
PayPal Here is the secure and easy-to-use mobile business app for all your payment needs. Get back-office management, POS, and start accepting credit and debit card payments—in person and on the go—with our mobile card reader and free app. Pay a low transaction fee of only 2.7% per US card swipe. With PayPal Here, you’ll enjoy 24/7 live customer support and there are no commitments or monthly fees.
Unfortunately it looks like it is only available in the U.S. at the moment, though there's hope that the company will add support for more regions in the near future.
Bottom line, it's great to see that Windows Phone users having another big name option for accepting credit card payments on-the-go. PayPal Here is definitely an app worth looking into if your interested in giving your children's lemonade stand the edge against the neighbors come this Summer.
