Paradox Interactive, the publisher behind blockbuster games like Europa Universalis and Cities: Skylines announced today that the upcoming release for Pillars of Eternity; developed by Obsidian Entertainment, for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 is currently available for pre-order, and is scheduled to launch on August 29.
The game, which is inspired in part by Baldur's Gate, is an RPG-style game originally funded for development through Kickstarter which managed to crowd source over $4 million; and subsequently launched on PC, macOS, and Linux. The game will have both a digital and physical retail release for both platforms. The complete edition includes the base game, and both The White March expansions. The game will retail on all platforms for $49.99 according to Paradox.
Pillars of Eternity is based in a fantasy world called Eora, and you as the main protagonist is tasked with finding a solution to a blight that has caused all children in the world to be born without souls, and the reasoning behind your awakening into the world.
