Gamers know that Star Wars Battlefront is almost here. Only weeks ago, a public beta went live that gave many of us our first taste of the game. The beta locked away a significant amount of playable content in the finished product, leaving many to question whether Battlefront was the game they hoped it would be. Fortunately, as of today, Star Wars Battlefront is playable on the Xbox One. All you need is a subscription to EA Access to get started.
EA Access is the game subscription service that offers multiple Electronic Arts titles for a small fee. Exclusive to the Xbox One, you can pay $5/month or $30/year to have access to several titles, including: Battlefield Hardline, Battlefield 4, Dragon Age Inquisition, FIFA 15, Titanfall and more. In addition to paying a monthly fee, EA Access members also get early access to EA titles, which now includes Star Wars Battlefront.
It's worth noting that you don't get unlimited early access without buying the game. Downloading the title through the EA Access app will grant you a 10 hour trial period where the entire game is playable. If the trial period is anything like the one held for Battlefield Hardline, you get 10 hours of actual game time to play, so you don't shouldn't have to worry about time in menus and booting up drawing from your 10 hour timer.
Finally, EA Access members get 10% off of EA games purchased digitally with an active subscription. For a typical $60 game, you'll save $6, easily making you that $5 subscription back. More importantly, should you decide that Battlefront isn't to your liking, you've only wasted $5 instead of $60 and you can play any of the other titles in EA's "Vault" while your subscription lasts.
