PUBG to launch on Xbox One on December 12; pre-orders open

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds was announced to arrive on Xbox at E3 this year. However, a release date wasn't given at the time. Now, Xbox's Mike Ybarra has finally declared that the game will be landing on Xbox Game Preview on December 12, this year as promised. The title will cost gamers $29.99 for digital and retail purchases.

Ybarra announced on Twitter:

The game will be an Xbox-exclusive for an undisclosed period of time. But if Microsoft has its way, that period could go on longer. This is not a surprise as the title has been on a record-breaking spree on Steam, beating DOTA 2 in the most number of concurrent players on the platform and less than a month later, peaking at an unprecedented two million simultaneous users. One of its in-game accessories even sold for a whopping $1000 on the Steam marketplace.

The game, which is being published by Microsoft, will also be released on disc for the Xbox One. PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds will also be an Xbox One X enhanced game and it can be pre-ordered here right now.
