UK Broadband ISP, Plusnet, has reacted to Talk Talk's offer of Free Broadband by announcing it's own range of pick'n'mix calls, line rental and broadband packages.
From July, punters of the Sheffield based plc will be able to subscribe to a package which includes your BT line rental from £11/month - so you need not pay a BT Bill ever again. The bundlen also includes 240 minutes of anytime UK landline calls and, unlike Talk Talk's offering, is based on a flexible 1 month contract. Talk Talk asks punters to signup for 18 months.
Commenting on the new offering, Chief Exec Lee Strafford said :
"Broadband customers have demonstrated the demand for voice services to be bundled with their broadband service but have hitherto been put off by long term commitments and product offerings that are restrictive in terms of choice".
Available at all BT exchanges, Basic Broadband upto 8mb can be bolted on for just £9.99, making the package £20.99; a competitive offering when you consider Talk Talk's package of the same price is only available at a Talk Talk unbundled exchange, currently few and far between.

This is all based on BT's new Wholesale Line Rental (WLR) service which allows providers to integrate line rental into their calls packages making it easier for the customer to deal with just one company for all the communications needs.
With Talk Talk sales five times higher than predicted - and the launch of these Plusnet bundled products - it seems the UK is moving further towards one unified company to provide homes with the full package of calls, line rental and broadband.
