Skype, a popular peer-to-peer internet Telephony network founded by Niklas Zennström and Janus Friis, has officially admitted in its Heartbeat blog that the program's peer-to-peer network core is having issues, consequently causing some users to be unable to log into the service. While nothing specific is mentioned, it appears to be a serious issue - Skype developers hope to fix it in 12 to 24 hours, a rather long time for a global service. The blog advises users experiencing the issue to simply leave their Skype clients running; as soon as the issue is resolved, the users will be automatically logged in.
