OnePlus has increasingly been promoting its smartphones as gaming devices, which became especially evident when the company partnered with Epic Games to enable 90Hz support in Fortnite. Now, the company is also working with the team behind PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds Mobile to add a similar feature to the game.
To be clear, though, 90Hz support in PUBG Mobile seems to be on the way for other Android phones, but OnePlus is getting temporary exclusive rights to the feature. According to the company, OnePlus users can exclusively play the game at 90Hz starting today and until September 7, at which point it will be available for other devices. It's not clear which devices will be supported at that point, however.
To enable the feature, you'll need to have the latest version of the game and choose the "Smooth" option in the game's graphics settings. After that, the option to enable the 90Hz mode should be visible on that same page.
With the exception of the recently-launched OnePlus Nord, every OnePlus phone that has a 90Hz refresh rate or higher supports the new mode in PUBG Mobile. That means the OnePlus 7 Pro, OnePlus 7T series, and OnePlus 8 series are all supported. Presumably, the OnePlus Nord's chipset isn't fast enough to render the game's graphics at 90Hz.
