QuakeCon 2012 registration opens on Wednesday

One of the biggest public gaming events in the US is about to launch its registration process. Bethesda Softworks has announced that it will begin registering people for QuakeCon 2012, the annual PC gaming event, on Wednesday at 8 pm EST on the official QuakeCon 2012 web site. The event itself, which originated in 1996 and sponsored by Bethesda and id Software, will be held in at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas, Texas on August 2-5.

As with previous editions, QuakeCon 2012 will be free to attend for anyone who wants to show up, either with or without their PC on hand to put inside the massive BYOC area. However, there will be three premium packages that will be sold to a limited number of QuakeCon attendees.

The QuakeCon 2012 Swag Pack will cost $40 and be limited to 500 attendees. For that price you get two t-shirts; the official QuakeCon 2012 t-shirt and another one based on the upcoming game Dishonored, the first person shooter that's under development at Bethesda's Arkane Studios.

For $30, QuakeCon 2012 will offer 1,500 attendees the BYOC Select a Seat Pack. This allows attendees to select a guaranteed seat in the BYOC area, plus a limited edition QuakeCon 2012 BYOC t-shirt. For $50, you can also get the QuakeCon Done Quick pack. Limited to just 350 attendees, the pack contains all of the items in the BYOC Select a Seat Pack, plus a faster way to get registered into the BYOC area. It also includes special reserved seating and fast pass registration to all of QuakeCon 2012's events.
