Today, Qualcomm held its Snapdragon Technology Summit in Hawaii. There were announcements of new Windows on ARM PCs from HP and ASUS, along with promises of Always Connected PCs from AMD. Qualcomm wrapped up the keynote by showing off its next flagship Mobile Platform, the Snapdragon 845.
While it brought on stage partners like Samsung, who the company partnered with the develop the chip, details are scarce. As with the Snapdragon 835, it will be 10nm; in fact, Qualcomm boasted today that it got to 10nm before Intel did.
It should also include the new Snapdragon X20 modem, which can achieve downlink speeds of up to 1.2Gbps, along with uplink speeds of up to 150Mbps. Qualcomm also said that 5G devices will be arriving in early 2019, so next year's flagship chip may have the Snapdragon X50 modem.
The Snapdragon Technology Summit isn't over yet though, and Qualcomm will be holding another keynote tomorrow, where it will reveal the full specs of the new chipset.
