Big PC maker Quanta will ship around 350,000 iMacs during this quarter and will make 17-inch and 19-inch models for Apple during the third quarter, reports Digitimes today.
And the wire claims that it Quanta is working three shifts to churn out iMacs right now, although earlier this year, as reported here, it was affected by a shortage of 15-inch TFT LCD screens.
But the same story is reporting that other players are pushing to get the Apple business by offering cut-throat prices 30 per cent below those of Quanta.
Digitimes claims that because Quanta has a strong relationship with Apple, those bids are being spurned by Steve Jobs' company.
