Verizon Wireless started taking orders for the HTC Windows Phone 8X smartphone a little more than a month ago. Verizon is selling the Windows Phone 8-based device in three colors: blue, black and red; the black and red versions are exclusive to Verizon.
Today, images leaked out of yet another version of the smartphone, but this one won't apparently be made available to the general public. WPCentral.com reports that some Verizon Wireless employees have received a special limited edition version of the device that has a grey base color and a limelight yellow color for the circle around the smartphone's camera lens.
Each of these very rare smartphones have been individually numbered but at the moment there's no word on how many were made. The images that were leaked show that the grey version has a very distinctive look, especially combined with that yellow accent, and it's a shame that the general public will likely not get the chance to purchase this version of the HTC smartphone.
The HTC Windows Phone 8X is also being sold by AT&T and T-Mobile. It is currently the only HTC Windows Phone 8 device sold in the United States. HTC confirmed a few weeks ago it will not sell the cheaper 8S smartphone in the U.S.
