As expected, Oppo's sub-brand Realme has today launched the Realme 2 smartphone in India. It is the upgraded version of the Realme 2 which was launched last month.
It comes in three color options -- Ice Lake, Black Sea, and Blue Ocean, and will go on sale exclusively through Flipkart from October 11. The 4GB RAM model is priced at ₹13,990 ($193), while the 6GB RAM model costs ₹15,990 ($220). The top-end variant, which packs 8GB of RAM, is priced at ₹17,990 ($248).
The Realme 2 Pro features a 6.3-inch FullView Full HD+ display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio and Gorilla Glass protection on top. It is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor, coupled with the Adreno 512 GPU.
The 4GB RAM and 6GB RAM models come with 64GB of internal storage while the 8GB RAM model packs 128GB of onboard storage. All three models have a microSD card slot with support for expandable storage of up to 256GB.
In the camera department, the Realme 2 Pro features a dual camera setup on the back, consisting of a 16MP primary Sony IMX398 sensor and a 2MP secondary sensor. It comes with a few AI-based features, including AI Scene Recognition, AI Beautification, and AI Album. On the front side, there's a 16MP snapper with AI Beauty 2.0 for taking selfies.
The phone comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and support for Face Unlock feature as well. Connectivity options on the device include Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5 LE, and GPS/GLONASS.
It runs ColorOS 5.2 based on Android 8.1 Oreo, and is powered by a 3,500mAh battery.
