Along with the Realme 2 Pro, the China-based Oppo's sub-brand has launched a new entry-level smartphone in the Indian market -- Realme C1.
The smartphone comes in two color options - Deep Black and Ocean Blue. It is priced at ₹6,999 ($97), which the company says is introductory pricing for the Diwali festival. It'll be available for purchase exclusively via Flipkart from October 11.
The Realme C1 features a 6.2-inch notched display with a screen resolution of 1520 x 720 pixels, 19:9 aspect ratio, and 88.8% screen-to-body ratio. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 450 octa-core processor is powering the phone, which is the same chipset that powers the company's recently launched Realme 2 smartphone.
It packs 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, along with a dedicated microSD card slot that supports memory cards of up to 256GB. Just like the Realme 1, this one too doesn't have a fingerprint sensor, but it does have a face unlock feature.
According to the company, the AI Facial Unlock detects your face through 128 identification points and unlocks the device in just 0.3 seconds.
For photography, the phone comes with dual rear camera setup, comprising of a 13MP primary sensor and a 2MP secondary sensor for depth sensing. It has a Portrait Mode that enables capturing bokeh shots. On the front side, there's a 5MP snapper which supports AI Beautification mode.
Connectivity options on the device include Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS + GLONASS, and USB OTG. It runs ColorOS 5.1 based on Android 8.1 Oreo and is fueled by a 4,230mAh battery with AI Power Master that reduces power consumption.
