One of the perks of buying a Tesla versus another electric vehicle was free access to its network of Superchargers. As an owner, you'd be able to pull up to a Supercharging station located in your country, charge up for 30 minutes, and gain about 170 miles of range. While this was very convenient, the firm discontinued the perk for new buyers that purchased their models after the first of the year or taking delivery of their vehicle after April 1. Luckily, it looks like there is a solution for those that were left out in the cold, as a new referral program will give new owners a chance to gain access to the coveted charging network.
According to a Tesla representative, current owners will have the ability to give out up to five referral codes to new owners. Although Teslas have been known in the past to carry a high price tag out of reach for most, the firm last year introduced its lower priced option, the Model 3. The vehicle gained a tremendous amount of interest with its near 300,000 pre-orders in its first month. This new referral code system will give lucky new owners even more bang for their buck, due to access to unlimited charging at Supercharging stations.
