Recently, a new report from a Taiwanese publication DIGITIMES has surfaced claiming that the latest iPhone will be available in a brand new color option. According to the source, for the first time ever, Apple will offer a dark blue color option for the iPhone 12. Apparently, it is not certain if this includes just the iPhone 12 or another model from that lineup such as the iPhone 12 Pro.
While this account of the rumor is recent, it isn't exactly new. In January, Twitter leaker Max Weinbach was the first person to claim that Apple would be opting for a navy blue color for its next iPhone Pro model, effectively replacing the Midnight Green shade. Based on his report, YouTuber EverythingApplePro created some rendered images of the alleged new iPhone 12 Pro hue (as seen above).
So far, other rumors about the unreleased 2020 iPhone range have been in plentiful supply. Various accounts and reports suggest that phones in the series could come with features such as sub-6 and mmWave 5G, a ToF sensor, 4K video recording at 240fps, OLED display panels, and a new braided USB-C Lightning cable.
It is further suspected that the iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max could have a 120Hz Super Retina XDR display, 6GB of RAM, storage options of 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB, a triple-lens camera with LiDAR and 3x zoom lens. Meanwhile alleged specifications of the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Max are believed to include a 60Hz Super Retina display, 4GB of RAM, 128GB, and 256GB internal storage variants, and dual cameras.
As for the features it may or may not have, there have been talks that the iPhone 12 series could possibly ship without EarPods or - more unbelievably so - without a charger in the box. It is also rumored that the 2020 iPhones could have smaller batteries compared to the iPhone 11 lineup.
For now, nothing is set in stone. The only concrete bit of information that has been confirmed by Apple is that the new iPhone series will be delayed by a few weeks this year, thereby delaying the usual September launch window of the Cupertino giant.
