If you have been waiting to upgrade your old iPhone to the newest model, your wait may be over soon. A new report from AllThingsD.com claims Apple will reveal their next version of their iOS smartphone at a press event on September 10th.
AllThingsD.com has predicted when Apple would hold previous iPhone and iPad press reveals in the past with some accuracy, so this new report, even though it has not been officially confirmed by Apple, could indeed be correct. The report does not give a specific location for the press event, but Apple usually holds its media gatherings either at the Moscone Center in San Francisco or at its own Cupertino, California headquarters.
No matter which new iPhone models are revealed, they will all have Apple's previously announced iOS 7 installed, with a redesigned UI, shown above, that includes flatter icons than older iOS version.
Apple is expected to launch at least one new iPhone model, which is already being called the iPhone 5S. Rumors claim it will have the same dimensions as the iPhone 5 but with some added hardware such as an NFC chip, an IGZO display, 2 GB of RAM and an eight megapixel rear camera.
The biggest rumor is that Apple might also launch another model, the iPhone 5C, this year that will have a plastic body and will therefore be cheaper to produce and sell. Many people believe that Apple needs to sell a cheaper iPhone in order to compete with the many low priced Android devices that have caused Android's share of the smartphone market to go up to as high as 79.3 percent, according to IDC.
