This year's E3 event was canceled earlier today by ESA, but if it had gone ahead as planned, a new report states that an unlikely company would have taken to the stage for the first time.
According to three sources familiar with these unannounced E3 plans that had spoken to Kotaku's Jason Schreier, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment would have had its debut E3 briefing at this year's event, joining the likes of Microsoft, Bethesda, Ubisoft, and others.
The report states that the major publisher would have unveiled new games in the Batman and Harry Potter universes. Rumors have been circulating of a new Batman game by Arkham Origins developers WB Games Montréal for a while now, which could be what WB was reportedly planning to reveal.
As for the Harry Potter universe-set title, this is said to be the same role-playing game that had some grainy footage leaked of it back in 2018. Schreier goes on to say that a new game unveiling from the Arkham series developer Rocksteady Studios was also planned for the event.
Obviously, Warner Bros. hadn't announced any plans for an E3 showing before the event got canceled so none of this is confirmed. But if the report is true, we should probably expect to see an online event by the publisher akin to what Microsoft and Ubisoft are doing this year.
