Following the massive success of Resident Evil 2 remake from earlier this year, Capcom has gone ahead and started making a remake of its sequel Resident Evil 3: Nemesis. The announcement arrived today during Sony's State of Play video presentation. See the new trailer above.
Simply named Resident Evil 3, the game is coming to PC via Steam, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 next year on April 3. The remaster will take players back to Raccoon City during the undead outbreak in the shoes of Jill Valentine. This time, however, it will be in the over-the-shoulder third-person perspective.
Alongside the zombies, the survival horror game will have Umbrella forces and Nemesis as adversaries for Jill. The remake is being built using Capcom's RE Engine, the same toolset that powered Resident Evil 7, Resident Evil 2 remake, as well as Devil May Cry 5.
Moreover, Resident Evil Resistance is part of the Resident Evil 3 remaster, arriving as the multiplayer portion. The game was unveiled earlier this year as a four versus one cooperative title, where the survivors are pitted against a "Mastermind" player who controls the action.
Pre-ordering Resident Evil 3 will get fans a Classic Costume Pack with the original game's outfit of Jill Valentine plus Carlos Oliveira’s original hairstyle. There will be a $179.99 Collector's Edition available for North American residents too, which will have a Jill Valentine figure, an art book, poster of Raccoon City, and the soundtrack.
